Uniport Suspended SUG Week as students set Amuokiri-Aluu ablaze yesterday

UNIPORT students were mobilised by students of other universities under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS. The students blocked major roads in Port Harcourt before moving to Aluu but fortunately for the indigenes, they were all gone before the students got there. The whole village was deserted, not even goats or chickens were seen anywhere. About 12  buildings were burnt down. So they value their own lives???

 This is just the beginning...

Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah paddles canoe in her flooded village...

The minister posted the photos on her Facebook page showing the state of her own village in Akili, Anambra State. The flood, which began in September after the Lagdo Dam in Northern Cameroon broke, has displaced over 50, 000 people and killed at least one hundred so far!

President Jonathan made an emergency broadcast this morning where he directed the release of billions of Naira to several flood-raved states in Nigeria. Aliko Dangote and others have also donated to flood victims.

Meet the Aluu 4 murder victims

Llyod Michael aka Big L (19) - Civil Engineering -Year 2
Ugonna Ibuzor - Geology - Year 2
Tekena Elkanah Computer Science (19) - Year 2
Chidiaka Biringa - Theatre Arts - Year 2

I am sure by now some of you have watched the video of the brutal beating death of the four University of Port Harcourt students - Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven't watched the video, please don't bother. It's the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart.

Now I'm convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this. People's children. Beaten till they were unconscious, then set on fire. They said they were robbers...were they really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this barbaric in this country?

Two of them were even cousins. Ugonna and IIyod. Both of them were upcoming rappers. Big L was the winner of a popular Rap Contest show on SilverbirdTV PH called 'Turb Show'. I have listened to some of his songs...I'm devastated
